About the Role

Overview:
The Remembrance Project is a heartfelt initiative dedicated to collecting and sharing personal stories of loss, strength, and resilience. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Project Manager to oversee the submission and publication process of these stories. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a deep understanding of the sensitivity required when handling stories of grief and healing.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage Submission Process:
Review and organize incoming submissions, ensuring they align with the project's guidelines.
Communicate with contributors, providing support and guidance throughout the submission process.
Collaborate with the editorial team to review submissions, ensuring they meet the project's criteria and standards.

Content Coordination:
Work closely with contributors to help them articulate their stories effectively.
Edit and proofread submissions, ensuring clarity, coherence, and adherence to the project's guidelines.
Coordinate with writers, providing constructive feedback to enhance the impact and authenticity of their narratives.

Sensitive Handling:
Approach contributors with empathy and respect, recognizing the emotional nature of their stories.
Ensure confidentiality and privacy for contributors, respecting their choice of anonymity or pen names.
Provide emotional support to contributors, acknowledging their courage in sharing their experiences.
Collaboration and Outreach:

Collaborate with graphic designers, illustrators, and other creative professionals to enhance the visual appeal of published stories.
Work closely with the marketing team to promote published stories through various channels, including social media, newsletters, and community outreach programs.
Quality Control:

Maintain the highest standards of storytelling, ensuring that each published piece is compelling, authentic, and respectful.

Monitor reader feedback and engage with the audience, fostering a sense of community and understanding.
Qualifications:

Preferred Skills:
Experience in grief counseling, social work, or a related field, providing a valuable understanding of the emotional needs of contributors.
Familiarity with various forms of creative expression, such as writing, art, or multimedia storytelling.
Knowledge of digital marketing and social media platforms for outreach and promotion.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Nursing or in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.

  • Experience in project management, particularly in managing creative or editorial projects welcomed.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a high degree of empathy and sensitivity.

  • Strong editing and proofreading abilities, with a keen eye for detail and narrative coherence.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

  • Empathy and understanding when dealing with contributors, recognizing the emotional challenges they may face.
